Career Fair Confidence

For College students, it can be intimidating to talk to so many Recruiter and Hiring Managers at Career Fairs.  Especially when there are so many other students attending the event.  This is the secret formula for building confidence at a career fair.  Start by mapping out the companies you want to visit, based on your level of interest.  Visit those companies you have the least interest in first, so you can practice your ‘elevator pitch’.  That way, you will build your confidence throughout the day!

Interview Preparation

Use the STAR method to help you prepare for an interview to better frame your answers on behavior based on interview questions. The beauty of this approach is that it is useful at any stage of your career. Often times an interviewer will ‘prompt’ you with questions that start out with “give me an example of” or “tell me about a time”. Pay attention to these questions, most interviewers are hoping to hear your results and accomplishments!

The desire to hire ‘top talent’ is often cited as the goal of most hiring teams, yet many companies do not recognize that a positive candidate experience correlates to landing top talent.
